不当表示 日本水産に改善命令

東京に本社がある水産食品の大手「日本水産」が、ズワイガニ入りとして販売していた冷凍コロッケにズワイガニより価格の安いベニズワイガニが使われていたことがわかり、公正取引委員会は不当な表示に当たるとして、日本水産に対し改善を命じました。

改善を命じられたのは「ニッスイ」の名称で知られ、東京・千代田区に本社がある日本水産です。公正取引委員会によりますと、日本水産が遅くともおととし４月ごろからことし２月にかけて「ずわいがにコロッケ」の商品名で販売していた冷凍コロッケに、実際にはベニズワイガニが使われていたということです。ズワイガニは高級品として扱われ、農林水産省によりますと、市場では通常、ベニズワイガニの７～８倍程度の高値で取り引きされているということです。公正取引委員会は、消費者に誤解を与える表示を禁じた景品表示法に違反するとして、日本水産に、今後こうした表示をしないよう命じました。一方、農林水産省も、不適正な表示だとしてＪＡＳ法に基づいて表示の改善を指示しました。問題の冷凍コロッケは、主に生協を通じ、１パック６個入りで、３００円前後で各家庭に宅配され、不当表示が確認された２年近くの間に、およそ８５万パックが売れたということです。農林水産省に対し、日本水産は「ベニズワイガニも同じズワイガニ属のカニなのでズワイガニと表示してもいいと思った」と話しているということです。指摘を受けて、日本水産はことし５月の販売分から商品名を「紅ずわいがにコロッケ」に変更しています。日本水産は「担当者の思い込みで事実と違う表示をしてしまい、さらに内部でチェックできずに気づくのが遅れてしまった。消費者の皆さんには申し訳なく、再発防止に努めたい」と話しています。
